Background

Wenco International Mining Systems help mining operators achieve their goals by optimising the management, dispatch, and utilisation of their fleets. A subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery, Wenco enables HCM’s digital capabilities while supporting other brands such as Komatsu and Caterpillar in multi-OEM environments.

Problem

Wenco set out to enhance its asset health solution, Readyline, by moving to a hybrid edge-cloud solution. They initially attempted to build the solution in-house but faced cloud service delivery challenges. Under pressure to deliver and realising these problems were not core to the business, Wenco changed tack and sought an IoT platform to provide the fundamental building blocks.
