Davra is seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer who will also take on QA Manager responsibilities to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our platform and customer solutions. This hybrid role is approximately 80% senior-level QA engineering and 20% QA management, combining hands-on testing expertise with leadership and process ownership. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to shape the future of QA at Davra.

The role is remote with hybrid or fully on-site flexibility, based in Dublin, Ireland.

Duties and Responsibilities

QA Engineering (Senior QA – 80%)

  • Test Strategy: Design, implement, and execute comprehensive test strategies, covering functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
  • Test Automation: Build and maintain automated test frameworks to accelerate release cycles and improve test coverage.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Defect Management: Oversee the identification, documentation, and tracking of software defects; conduct root cause analysis; and partner with engineering teams to prioritise, coordinate, and prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Multi-Environment Testing: Execute and validate testing across multiple environments, including cloud, on-premise, and IoT edge deployments.
  • Documentation: Maintain QA documentation, including test cases, test plans, automation scripts, and release notes.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure quality standards are consistently met for both platform releases and customer-specific deployments.
  • Release Readiness: Participate in release readiness reviews, providing go/no-go quality recommendations.

QA Management (20%)

  • QA Roadmap: Define and maintain the QA roadmap, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, delivery schedules, and long-term quality strategy.
  • QA Governance and Processes: Oversee QA processes and define governance standards for testing and release management.
  • Quality Metrics: Monitor, track, and report on key QA KPIs (e.g., test coverage, defect leakage, cycle time, roadmap progress), using insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor QA team members, fostering a high-performing, quality-first culture.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work with leadership on resourcing, tooling, and roadmap planning to support QA growth.
  • Compliance: Ensure QA practices adhere to ISO27001, SOC2, and other relevant standards.
  • Quality Advocacy: Act as a champion for quality across the organisation, balancing delivery speed with risk management.
  • Customer Project QA: Support quality assurance on customer projects, including assisting Services with test plan creation and execution, and liaising directly with clients on test planning, execution, and progress reporting.

Experience and Skills

Must-Have:

  • QA Engineering Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience in software QA engineering, ideally within enterprise SaaS or IoT environments.
  • Test Automation: Strong knowledge of automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, or similar).
  • API and CI/CD Testing: Solid experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured) and integrating QA within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Test Strategy: Proven ability to plan and execute test strategies across complex, distributed systems.
  • Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience working with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and communicate defects effectively.
  • Leadership: Experience mentoring or leading within QA or broader software delivery teams.
  • Performance Testing: Knowledge of load and performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, Locust).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

Valuable Extras

  • IoT Testing: Familiarity with IoT environments, protocols, and device testing.
  • QA Management: Previous experience with QA management responsibilities, such as process definition or stakeholder reporting.
  • Compliance: Exposure to ISO27001/SOC2 compliance requirements in a software organisation.
  • Certifications: ISTQB, Agile Testing, or other relevant certifications.
